Lightswitch Wins Four IES Illumination Awards of Merit
Global lighting design firm honored by renowned international awards program for excellence in lighting design

Chicago, IL, May 14, 2015 – Demonstrating achievement in lighting design, Lightswitch and its architectural lighting division, Lightswitch Architectural, have received four Awards of Merit from the prestigious IES Illumination Awards program. The IES Illumination Awards program is an international design competition hosted by the Illumination Engineering Society that commends professionalism, ingenuity and originality in lighting design.

“We are honored that our designs have been recognized by this distinguished design program,” says Lightswitch San Francisco principal Norm Schwab. “The IES Illumination Awards are synonymous with excellence in lighting design, and we are proud to see our designs celebrated alongside innovative, quality projects from across the globe.”

Three Lightswitch projects received awards. Our lighting design for the Hong Kong Jockey Club’s restaurants, private boxes and betting areas earned a Guth Award of Merit for Interior Lighting Design. The lighting for artist Cliff Garten’s sculpture at The Vermont residences, titled Los Angeles Opens Its Heart of Compassion, received an Outdoor Lighting Design Award of Merit sponsored by Eaton’s Cooper Lighting Business. The 2014-15 “Illumination” holiday lighting show at The Morton Arboretum in Lisle, IL, was awarded two distinctions: an Outdoor Lighting Design Award of Merit and a Lighting Control Innovation Award of Merit sponsored by Lighting Controls Association.

Lightswitch has previously been recognized with six other IES Illumination Awards, including one of the program’s top honors, the Lighting Control Innovation Award, which we received in 2009 for the Bubble Theater at the City of Dreams casino in Macau.
