What It WasThe Valley View School District needed a new auditorium, and wanted something versatile. This beautiful multi-use building, which includes a 250-seat auditorium, opened in June 2006. This project was unique in its bidding process- it was bid five different ways, and the school district chose the specifics of the project based on the bids received. What We DidLightswitch was the theater consultant on this project and had a hand in selecting the dimming, lighting, rigging (a welded, flat, pipe grid), curtain and track, architectural lighting fixtures, and performance electric distribution equipment. We designed the system with expansion in mind, as they are currently only using a little more than half of their available dimming system. Why It WorkedLightswitch was asked to estimate the project before the bids came in. We were right on for almost every area. In the one area where we estimated too low, we were less than 3% off. With such accurate information to begin with, this project easily came in within budget, and on time. | |||||||||||||
