What It Was

Local Charm is a chain of boutique jewelry stores that started in New Orleans and now has locations across the country. These stores offer a warm and inviting environment to their customers, a crucial element to maintain in their renovation.

What We Did

The jewelry displays were being lit by small halogen sources which made a line of shadow across their products and were not bright enough. We installed t5 compact fluorescents to replace the halogen sources, which eliminated their shadow problem as well as making the display brighter. The new fixtures are more energy efficient, produce less heat, and cost about fifty percent less than the originals.

Why It Worked

Lightswitch was able to maintain the warm inviting atmosphere of the store while greatly improving the displays. The first store to have this renovation was at The Mall of America in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in November of 2004. Half a year later a new store in The Fashion Show mall in Las Vegas installed the same, improved lighting.
