What It Was

The Ardmore Tower Expansion Project is a six-story addition to the Brenner's Children's Hospital at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. The designers strove to create an experience for the children in the hospital that reinforces the diverse themes existing on each floor, has educational value, and serves as a fun escape from the seriousness of the environment.

What We Did

Lighting is used to enhance the video presentations and provide a magical look to the video wall during transitions. During high traffic times of the day, the video wall enters interactive mode. Children activate infrared sensors, which detect their presence and trigger a video segment.

Why It Worked

The creative collaborative effort of the multimedia wall carefully combines video, music, and lighting and achieves outstanding results. The children find the system easy to understand, and are always eager to become engaged by it. The results effectively mix creativity, technology, affordability and fun!
