What It Was

This large estate house was previously owned and operated as a corporate conference center and is located on the fringe of a beautiful state park in Orange County, NY. The current owners have restored the building’s interior to its original vintage while adding their own personal touch using updated fixtures, materials & colors.

What We Did

Lightswitch designed the living areas, master bath suite and kitchen for the home. The primary objective was to provide a sense of “sparkle” while maintaining the look and feel of a grand country escape. All of the finishes, fixture styles and color of light were carefully coordinated with both the owners and the interior architect. Additionally, a central lighting control system gives the client an extremely simple way to have multiple looks that can be changed with the push of a single button.

Why It Worked

The project was successful due to the impressive quality of collaboration and ingenuity between the owners, the Lightswitch design team and the installation contractor. Onsite meetings played a major role in the success of the design intent despite the challenges to physically incorporate the new lighting equipment into the interior structure.
