Vision and innovation are talents Mauricio Lopez brings to his lighting, thanks to manifold skills as an architect, designer and artist. With an Architecture Bachelor’s Degree from National University of Colombia, and extensive experience as a fine artist, his talents are an exceptional package. In practice in his native Colombia, his work ranged in scope from the exploration of daylight as a key element in project design to serving as the City Planning Director for the reconstruction of Armenia, Colombia. His strengths in the areas of creativity, technical knowledge and management expertise led to his involvement in high-end corporate, residential, retail and institutional design projects for some of the most prestigious architectural firms in North America. Lopez’s artwork is award winning, earning him a commission for public art installation with the New York City Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Arts for Transit, and recognition in ‘urbancanvas”, the New York City Department of Buildings and Cultural Affairs contest.
